At PlanetEmbroidery.com there are several embroidery related online services that work through the Internet. They are user friendly and do not require any prior training.

There are 2 kind of services:

• Custom Embroidery Design Services
• Other Embroidery Utilities

Note: Offered services may change without any prior notification.

Custom Embroidery Design Services

All these services produce embroidery files in several suitable formats for embroidery machines (home & commercial). Users are not buying any software; they are getting design files on some embroidery file formats.

Web Lettering:

It produces customized embroidery text designs. There are many pre-digitized fonts available. For some of them, it is possible to change the fill type. It also includes style templates that easily modify the design from simple to complex patterns. Web Lettering produces embroidery files in several suitable formats for embroidery machines (home & commercial).

Web Monogram:

It produces customized embroidery monogram designs, which may be selected from the many monogram styles available, scaled and customized.

Web Motifs:

It produces customized embroidery motif designs. You may select among the many motifs available, scale it and export to any embroidery file format.

Web Photo:

It produces personalized embroidery photo-style designs. Upload your photo and convert it to stitches. The stitch generation demand a few seconds.

Other Embroidery Utilities

Free utilities. Specific conditions may apply for each service.

Web ET-Charts:

It offers you the necessary tools to identify, examine, compare and search embroidery thread color codes of several manufacturers.

go topAre the PE Services free or not?

PE Embroidery Utilities Services are absolutely free.

PE Custom Embroidery Design Services have some options free, but most of them are charged at a very reasonable & competitive price. Yes, users can get some custom designs for free (selecting the free options) and also other paid designs (with a more variety of options).

There could be some other restrictions (or differences) on de use of the free of charge service, such as the number of designs produced on a daily or monthly basis, for how long the design remains stored in the server, number of stitches, etc.

go topWhy can I only produce a limited number of designs daily?

This restriction is only applicable to free of charge designs. With the purpose of offering this service to a big number of users, we are forced to restrict the use of the system per user, so that a big number of visitors find it available and could be able to use it whenever necessary. Through the credits system (paid service) you will be able to create designs without restrictions, and download them, according to the balance of your credits account.

go topHow does the “credit system” work?

Each PE custom design service may have a different pricing formula. But all of them are measured in a unit called “credit”. It means that you can use your credits for different PE custom design services.

Each time you produce an embroidery design, the web service page will show how many “credits” it would consume (and how many credits are available). Some designs may cost “0 credits” and others depend on the selected design options. It is also clearly shown the cost meaning in a normal currency type (u$S)

• You can buy credits by clicking on the "Buy credits" button (after login). It's a secure operation and there are several payment methods.
• These credits will be added to your “credits account” and can be used in any service in our site.
• The cost of a design (measured in credits) may vary depending on many factors for each service (check the information on each service page).
• The cost of a single credit (the Planet Embroidery measuring unit) depends on the credit's package you select at the moment of the purchase. The more credits you buy, the cheaper the single credits will be.
• Once you have accepted the design, the system will deduct those consumed credits from the total amount of credits available.

go topWhich are the steps to follow?

If you are not a registered user of PE yet, first you must fill the registration form and send it. You will receive a confirmation message in return. Then follow the instructions to activate your registration.

After login, you can use the free options and/or purchase “credits” from PlanetEmbroidery website (follow the “buy credit option”)

1. Buy enough credits to fulfill the use demand you planned for the required service.
2. Prepare the desired design, clearly stating each detail of the specification.
3. Try. You may pre-view the design. Check that design features match your requirement; otherwise, go back to point 2.
4. If you wish to download the design, confirm its approval (Get the Design). At that moment, credits used by this design will be deducted from the total credits available.
5. You may instantly download the design (in a machine format previously chosen) or either keep it during some days for its later download. You may download your design as many times as you wish, during the time it is available in the system, at no extra cost (but don’t forget it will be deleted automatically).

You may test the cost that represents each design you create, even before the initial purchase of credits. If there is no sufficient credit, you will not be able to finish your request.

go topHow should I download created designs?

On any PE Custom Design Service, once the design has been created, it is displayed on screen. Press the "Get the Design" button. A new window will pop up with instructions to download the design.

If you wish, you may not download it immediately. You may download all the designs recently stored at no extra cost later, using the option "User File's Download Area".

Remember that designs created will be stored in the system just temporarily (2 days for free designs, 7 days for charged designs). After that time, designs are automatically deleted from the system.

go topMay I use the designs for commercial purposes?

Anyone may use PE Custom Design Services, hobbyist and embroidery shops. The designs created could be used for commercial purposes as far as the following restrictions are met:

Designs created with PE Custom Design Services cannot be sold separately as an "end product" (ie: sell the files produced by PE Custom Design Services); however, they could be merged with other designs or to produce embroideries, which may be sold without any limitation.

You may use this tool in your business regularly, as far as you meet the above-mentioned limitation, without paying for any right or license to the owners of the service.

You should be respectful towards the good practices and any ownership right, development or license over the designs produced (just as an example, the owners of this service should not have any responsibility over the brands, logotypes and other third parties rights not met that are produced by the user, using the tool hereby supplied)

go topWhat about compatibility?

PE Custom Design Services produce embroidery designs in different codes (machine formats) ready for use with home embroidery machines or industrial embroidery machines.

Check your machine User's manual to know the suitable format to use with your embroidery machine. Then, select that format in the "Machine Format" drop down list.

go topWhich are the system requirements?

PE Services require an Internet browser to access the service. These applications are compatible with Internet Explorer 6 (and later versions), Netscape 7.0 and later versions, Opera 7.0 and Firefox 1.5 and later versions.

It is possible that the viewing in a browser presents problems, if so, change the browser (and please report the inconvenience)

go topWhich are the pro’s and con’s of PE custom design services compared to embroidery software?

Using PE custom design services you do not need to purchase any other software nor components, for design creation. There is a large amount of components (fonts, monograms and motifs) to choose from.

PE custom design services offers you making some designs free of charge and some others with a reasonable and very competitive price.

PE custom design services are Internet-based so they do not require the installation of any specific software or module in your computer, with the additional advantage of being able to be used simultaneously in different computers, even remote ones, from virtually any location.

In the case in which the designs' demand is huge, it could be more suitable to acquire a full version program, which has a large number of components and a price that should be justified by a high workload.

There are also free programs or with an initial low cost, but they require the purchase extra components to count with a reasonable number of them. This could be useful for certain type of users, who have a reduced requirement of fonts, for example, since acquiring a reasonable number of fonts (over 100) may imply, at the end, a much higher cost than purchasing the full version of embroidery programs, which include a good variety with no extra costs.

go topHelp. Any special guidelines?

No. All necessary options are filled in a single step and visible in the same form. According to what Service you are in, you may enter the appropriate component (type the text and choose the font, or select the motif or monogram you want) and then change any available parameters to adapt the design to a specific application. To finish, press "Try".

Once the design is created, a simulated 3D embroidery image will be displayed. This image provides a way of verifying the aspect of the design and performing changes, if necessary.

If you are satisfied with the result obtained, press "Get the Design" and then follow the instructions to be able to download your design ready to embroider it.
