Tutorial

Step 1: Fill in the Form

System parameters:

Choose the Format (embroidery machine code) in which you wish to receive the design produced. Look for the codes that are compatible to your embroidery machine.

Choose the measurement unit of the system, according to your preference (metrics system, American system)

Choose a font from the list.

When selecting a font you could see a sample of that font in the right box and its properties will be refresh (maximum and minimum recommended sizes, characters available, etc.)

Enter the characters' size.

The value hereby assigned corresponds to the biggest box size that may hold any of the letters of the font indicated.

Notes:
Not necessarily the size introduced will have the height of the final design, as this is normally smaller.
Verify the values recommended in order to achieve an optimal stitch quality.

If you wish to slant characters, tick the Italic box.

If you wish to modify the text aspect (thinner or larger fonts), adjust the stated percentage (normal is 100%).

Adjust spacing:

Spacing between characters: Enter the desired value (in millimetres or inches, as applicable).

Spacing between words: If applicable, enter the appropriate value.

Adjust stitches properties.

Select the density of stitches suitable for your design (by default, is normal).

Select suitable base stitches for your design. These are stitches for fabric tightening.

You may add machine commands such as Thread Cut between letters or words. You may also add lock stitches to fix a letter, before moving to the next.

In some fonts with patterned areas, you may select the Pattern Type to use, giving the font different textures.

Transformation styles

Some fonts allow you to perform text changes, adopting different forms. Those styles "deform" (alter the shape) of the block that holds the text adjusting them into a particular shape, which templates are pre-defined.

Enter the Text

Enter the text you wish to create (with a maximum of 50 characters per design).

Sample viewing:

Although not essential to obtain the design, you may select a background color and another color for the thread with which you will make the sample.
In the case of fonts with more than one color, this will be useful to easily identify the order of stitches in the final embroidery.

You may visualize a vertical and horizontal ruler in the 3D preview to check the end size of the design.

Step 2: Design verification

Once you have completed the personal information required, press the "Try" button.

After few seconds, Web Lettering will be updated with the simulation of the final design.

Check that the resulting values for height, number of stitches and width are the expected ones, as well as the general aspect of the stitches generated.

If you consider that adjustments are necessary (for example, a different density value, or a size change, or a new color combination), perform the relevant changes and press the TRY button again to create a new design with the stated adjustments.

Step 3: Design sending

Once you have obtained your design, press the button "Send Me" once. Following, Web Lettering will send you (to the e-mail address provided) a message containing the embroidery file attached ready to use, and the 3D simulation.
